<div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b>Just a quick post to announce that our sweet Cecily Blanche is finally here!</b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Born Monday, July 5th, at 8:01am via planned C-section. She weighed a healthy 7 lbs 14 oz, and measured 20 inches long. Head full of dark brown hair, which surprised hubby and I--Knox had NO hair when he was born! :) She's a wonderful baby, and rarely cries unless we're changing her clothes or diaper. We actually have to wake HER up every four hours to eat!<br />
<br />
This past week has been an easy transition, due only to my wonderful hubby and amazing parents being here to help out with Knox, grocery shopping, cooking, clothes washing, etc. Sweet Brother and Lindsey came for the weekend to love on both Knox and Cecily. It meant the world to have all of them here. Knox went home with Ma Jack & Big Daddy, then on to Grammy & Grandaddy's until Thursday or Friday. That way, he gets a little "vacation" while I continue to heal since I currently can't even pick him up. After his vacation, he along with Grammy & Grandaddy come see us for the weekend so they can have some quality time with baby girl.<br />
<br />
We're definitely blessed with amazing family, as well as wonderful friends. Jeff, Bridgette & Holly all were able to come meet Cecily in the hospital. Jill drove 2 1/2 hours down for a Friday visit, and the Bowlings (Jayma, BJ & presh Miss Molly) drove 3 hours over for a Saturday visit. One more friend may be able to stop by at the end of this month to meet Cecily, but we're waiting on the approval. :) Now, we just have to wait several more weeks until we go to the grandparents' houses before Cecily is able to meet more friends--and we CAN'T HARDLY WAIT to see them!<br />
<br />
Anywho, that's a quick run down of this amazing week in our life. Gotta go love on baby girl. :)Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-46010309359388345012010-06-07T13:35:00.000-07:002010-06-07T13:37:36.263-07:00Month 8 Down--one more to go!So, I didn't get around to doing more than one post last month. Sorry! We're on the downhill end of yet ANOTHER cold--this one being the worst I've had. Coughing all through the night, and little sleep for the past 5 nights. Not. Fun.<br />
<br />
Anywho, I've taken my 8 month pic about a week late again. This is the last Knox comparison pic I have--didn't think to take one at the end. :( Oh well, I was huge-antical. Today is week 35, and we scheduled Cecily's birth date: JULY 5th! That's in four weeks from today and I got the doctor I requested to do the C-section (he's not even on call, but "made time" for me)! Wish I could kick this cold to get a few more things made for her before she gets here. Total weight gain for me is currently at 21! Totally in the doctor recommended frame, and if I keep up what I did the past two weeks (2 lbs in 2 weeks--exact amount I'm supposed to gain here at the end!!!), I should only be at 25 total pounds! That is HALF OF THE WEIGHT I gained with Knox. Crazy, but I'll take it! :) Insane difference in each pregnancy!<br />
<br />
So without further delay, I give you the gigantic pregnancy pics:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmIwLt3cQHiVkrVJ9qinzHl63CBbLu0DZYTDbIou1P7vfovmi6ZI-U-Lss6Q84I_4DNGgaGMg01iCDbf1M8gm1SL0-n7AG0Zb-m_9YSAG0475AIKOHhSTHn9c7oDgx9oONPbyoModQY30/s1600/Month8Comparison.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmIwLt3cQHiVkrVJ9qinzHl63CBbLu0DZYTDbIou1P7vfovmi6ZI-U-Lss6Q84I_4DNGgaGMg01iCDbf1M8gm1SL0-n7AG0Zb-m_9YSAG0475AIKOHhSTHn9c7oDgx9oONPbyoModQY30/s320/Month8Comparison.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">You can't really tell from the Knox pic, but my belly was REALLY low and football shaped. With Ceci, I'm definitely more "out there" (as my parents would say :) and round.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I do have nursery pics, and will post...sometime. :) Happy Monday!</div>Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-84052592647408722392010-05-04T16:10:00.000-07:002010-05-04T16:10:40.300-07:007 Months!I'm about a week later than my normal monthly pregnancy post, but better late than never. I've been crazy busy with work, so hopefully now that I'm slowing a bit, I can post a few more things. I'm also working on Cecily's room--crib skirt and duvet cover for the queen/full bed are done. Just bed skirt, crib sheet, pillows, curtains and some artwork are left. I'd love to make her a few outfits and some burp cloths--just hope I can get it all in these next NINE WEEKS! Eeekk!<br />
<br />
Anywho, here's my picture. Warning: the Knox pics are of some whale that invaded my body. Oh and I had my hair cut over the weekend, which I love, but didn't really bother to fix this AM.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi16Ym0Ua2_4V3F7s5r4XKzdhkshu1BpKpQDKNqjrsF61ytJ_7Vd147cwa2hs0Y7d_Ibj19TcPgFHgHF7U8uWc6MgWRLa6e5YGn2oi-37Ao1whZucn79Ef2YLUZvUGp8od2mixWjP21Zkg/s1600/Month7Comparison.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi16Ym0Ua2_4V3F7s5r4XKzdhkshu1BpKpQDKNqjrsF61ytJ_7Vd147cwa2hs0Y7d_Ibj19TcPgFHgHF7U8uWc6MgWRLa6e5YGn2oi-37Ao1whZucn79Ef2YLUZvUGp8od2mixWjP21Zkg/s320/Month7Comparison.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<br />
To date, my official weight gain with Cecily is only 11 lbs, though I think I've gained about 4 in the last week. Not sure my exact weight gain with Knox, but it had to be somewhere around 35-40 lbs at this point. Crazy. Other current preggo facts: she's SUPER LOW, as Knox was. Constant pressure "down there", and head in my pelvic bone, like Knox as well. Only one noticeable bout of Braxton Hicks, but almost constant round ligament pain. Lower back hurts when I sit up-right for long periods of time, and I can feel my hips "loosening" for the labor I won't have to go through.<br />
<br />
Saw sweet Cecily's face today. The body attached to that face is already 4 lbs 4 oz, according to her measurements. Thankful to the C-section, I won't have to worry about how big she might get. It's just crazy since Knox was only 6 lb 7 oz, being 3 days late!<br />
<br />
Anywho, hopefully it won't be almost 5 weeks until my next post! Maybe I can get her room done before then to share pics!Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-54521161867408858332010-03-31T14:18:00.000-07:002010-03-31T14:18:25.268-07:006 Months!I'm so behind blogging, but I took my 6 month belly pic and wanted to share really quick. I have other things I need to get you all up to speed on (like Knox and his ear tubes along with the progress of Cecily's room), but I'll have to wait just a little longer for a time when I have just more of that--time.<br />
<br />
Anywho, ignore the windblown, pulled back hair. That's what happens when's it's GORGEOUS outside! :) Hope you are enjoying these amazing days we have been having, and will be having for the next week or so! I HEART SPRING!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkKnxKYenx8dOAQEbHl93DJIfwIqLIc0CW4Sre4TG9qNdXbqqLkNqhTk-QVs6bKKqDeoiTHal6IVWTb_ir9ReQ9EU-izk_JhzmV83rMZIuUtOXarmZbwWBNKIEnowLvActihM-Qj4gKcg/s1600/Month6Comparison.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkKnxKYenx8dOAQEbHl93DJIfwIqLIc0CW4Sre4TG9qNdXbqqLkNqhTk-QVs6bKKqDeoiTHal6IVWTb_ir9ReQ9EU-izk_JhzmV83rMZIuUtOXarmZbwWBNKIEnowLvActihM-Qj4gKcg/s320/Month6Comparison.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And just so you can see that my belly is looking more like it did at 4 months with Knox, here's the last month's comparison. Crazy what a 20 lb difference looks like. :) Just glad I've only gained 10 lbs and not the 20-30 that I did at this point with Knox!!! I can also tell the difference in how different I'm carrying Cecily, than I did Knox.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuBFBJAGRvHCXmfUZKMImzbaclBSYVHQFJUDwKS5Q-bEpk1wfzXwNVUScmnCIOZspW2hQCZW7iEo2_2UPFs6zdDOFCmVbv4MAsvgtLN1l7nbIuS2Eonfhj8ZtXFq8akDgmoD-NrhyzFJ4/s1600/Month5Comparison.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuBFBJAGRvHCXmfUZKMImzbaclBSYVHQFJUDwKS5Q-bEpk1wfzXwNVUScmnCIOZspW2hQCZW7iEo2_2UPFs6zdDOFCmVbv4MAsvgtLN1l7nbIuS2Eonfhj8ZtXFq8akDgmoD-NrhyzFJ4/s320/Month5Comparison.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">You can definitely tell she's grown in the last month! There's also another difference in the two pics. Can you tell what it is? If you guessed wall color, you're right! Part of our preparation for hopefully selling the house in the next year!</div>Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-77173621954345083942010-03-11T09:49:00.000-08:002010-03-11T09:49:09.422-08:00An Awesome Giveaway I HAD to share!I wanted to mention an AWESOME giveaway I came across. Keith will be painting Cecily and Knox's rooms a yellowish cream color while Knox and I are away next week (getting the house ready for a possible move in the near future). Cecily's furniture will be an antique, white set of my grandmothers, but for the time being we're keeping the queen, dark wood bed currently in the spare room. Mainly for our parents' to have a space to sleep while they're visiting after Cecily's birth. Knox's crib is a light wood, which I hope will fit well with the queen bed. I would love to find a dresser that could stay with the bed, so that when we do happen to move, they can stay together in a spare room.</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">I'm trying to find a decor that will look great with yellow walls and wood furniture, that can translate to a light green room with white furniture. I'm going to incorporate both colors, with many shades of pink and purple. My dark color was originally going to be black, but now I'm leaning more towards brown. I received the first piece of artwork for her room, and couldn't be more thrllled. Already have it matted and framed. I found the print of the water color alphabet on Etsy (I'm infatuated, and not just because I have a storefront there). <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/thewheatfield">This girl</a> offers some beautiful, reasonably printed watercolor prints. Just be ready to wait at least a week or so for your order to arrive.</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">I think I'm going to lean towards a mix retro/mod and dainty florals--a nice eclectic mix. I bought a duvet at Ikea for $15, a rusty orange and white. Don't know if I'll keep that with the white furniture, but I'll make it work for the time being. I found a really easy tutorial online to make crib sheets and changing pad cover. I'll make the curtains--bubble shade, maybe? I need to find a little posh rug and some sort of side table if room allows. I'll paint her a pic and maybe hang a shelf. I know I'm rambling, but you'll see the process as it happens, I'm sure.</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br />
</span></div><div style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Anywho, hope you have a wonderful weekend! We should--I'm hoping to get my hands dirty in the yard!!! YAY!</span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande'; font-size: 11px;"><br />

Yep, my little brother proposed to his long time girlfriend, sweet Lindsey (to be known from now on as Lulu--get it--Uncle Tutu and Aunt Lulu?!) the day after Valentine's Day! On top of that wonderful news, she was accepted into TWO graduate schools, one being UAB--her first choice! YAY! I'm so excited and proud of her, and glad they won't be so far away for the next three years.<br />
<br />
The Big Day will be November 20th. I'm honored to be one of Lindsey's brides (matrons), Knox is going to be ring bearer (if he cooperates) and Cecily will kinda be like an honorary flower girl. I just can't begin to express how excited I am that Brother has found his lifelong love, and that she's so stinkin' AWESOME! We're so excited for her to become part of our family, as she is excited to become part of ours. She's also so excited to become an auntie--I think she was as anxious as I was to find out the gender of Miss Cecily. :)<br />

Can't wait until next weekend when I FINALLY get to see them since they've been engaged, at their engagement party we're having for them. Good times, just hate Hubs won't be with us.Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-91025211979668174702010-03-01T11:36:00.000-08:002010-03-01T11:36:38.898-08:0021 Weeks!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXDawYik4PdQvZm9KDyxyHh81kyH6A9Aw2d1QUvGW4f0OiSpjIpsarFZ4ZP7dfaSwgSC3Mtz5r7rhw3uZAAq_d69p6OoUl82bzz0B1TjCLh3Z30_SUHwOf6iXSgHIyzlrkurkWJZJXZwg/s1600-h/Cecily21WksProfile.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXDawYik4PdQvZm9KDyxyHh81kyH6A9Aw2d1QUvGW4f0OiSpjIpsarFZ4ZP7dfaSwgSC3Mtz5r7rhw3uZAAq_d69p6OoUl82bzz0B1TjCLh3Z30_SUHwOf6iXSgHIyzlrkurkWJZJXZwg/s320/Cecily21WksProfile.jpg" /></a></div>Today I'm 21 weeks, and only 18 to go! We had our last "official" ultrasound today, but will more than likely have a 3D ultrasound in two months or so. We had one with Knox, so we'll have to have one for her!<br />
<br />
Cecily is STILL a girl, and a healthy one so far. She's measuring just under a pound at 13 ounces, which is just shy of typical weight. Her heartbeat is 140--pretty consistent from a month ago at 146. She has all hands, feet, kidneys, chambers of her heart and a cute little nose. It's not quite as turned up as Knox's was at his 20 weeks, so I'm guessing she's going to look more like her Daddy. :) She's crazy active, at all times of the day. I don't know if I'm able to feel her much more than Knox for the fact that she's that much more active, that this is my second pregnancy or that I've gained much less weight than I did with him. I just hope it's not a foreboding of a hyper little girl! She kicked or punched at both the ultrasound tech AND the doctor today--both asked if I felt the kick that they saw or heard during my checkup.<br />

Her little hands are up by her face.</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i> </i></div>All is well with me--I've gained 4 pounds this past month, putting my total weight gain to 2 pounds (I actually lost 6 pounds last month, more than likely due to the nasty stomach bug that put me under my starting weight.) That makes me beyond happy--at this point with Knox, I think I may have gained 15-20 pounds! MOO! I, sadly, gained 50 pounds with Knox, and I'm making a point to NOT let that happen again. You'll be able to tell a huge (no pun intended) difference in my two pregnancies from the comparison pics starting in this month.<br />

Anywho, Happy Monday AND HAPPY MARCH! (February and I just don't get along so well!)Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-62726509405439850522010-02-28T16:30:00.000-08:002010-02-28T16:31:36.269-08:00Our Little GolferKnox is obsessed with golf, whether it's us playing on the Wii or a game on the TV (though I'm fairly certain my father started this trend with his Tiger Woods Golf he plays on his computer, with Knox in his lap). We found out the love of golf on TV recently, when plopped down in the floor with Keith and watched at least 30 minutes with his hands propped up behind his head. Here are two videos of him watching his newfound love and mimicing their moves. (The golf set I got when we picked up the infamous antibiotics for the ear infection--needless to say, he's enthusiastic and has broken two of the three clubs. Thankfully, not ON anything.)<br />
<br />
<em>I couldn't figure out how to cut these down, so the end on one is nothing special. Anywho, watch how he tries to wait and swing when the golfers on TV do so. He does that with us when we play the Wii. So cute!</em><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjluNWlC20oiLHq54PKfDgeT0tvhTMFGJ8fIVfFNrmEdkBHfzNOSTLwUEHp8-mJyvSNpNMSYVFk8svP3s6_6BcniA3eC63qgj6V7dPqLIngs6EV85KGXNBQv-gRLNyUAjbCR-oQx8ycELU/s1600-h/Snow021310_47B.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjluNWlC20oiLHq54PKfDgeT0tvhTMFGJ8fIVfFNrmEdkBHfzNOSTLwUEHp8-mJyvSNpNMSYVFk8svP3s6_6BcniA3eC63qgj6V7dPqLIngs6EV85KGXNBQv-gRLNyUAjbCR-oQx8ycELU/s320/Snow021310_47B.jpg" /></a></div>• Snow was awesome the weekend of Valentine's Day, complete with a visit from Grammy & Grandaddy. Knox LOVES the snow and might love sledding down our little hills even more.<br />
<br />
• I've been working on a few things for Cecily, and some things will soon be available via <a href="http://www.greatdaygraphics.etsy.com/">my Etsy Storefront</a> so check out my <a href="http://www.greatdaygraphics.blogspot.com/">Creative Blog</a> for info when items will be listed<br />
<br />
• Knox knows where Cecily is: if focused, he'll lift my shirt and put his finger in my belly button<br />
<br />
• Knox has his 5th or 6th ear infection. His NP now thinks that he will need tubes due to the number of infections, his delayed/chopped speech (by chopped I mean he normally only says the first syllable of each word) and his off sense of balance. We head back to the ENT on March 9th.<br />
<br />
• Due to the infection, he's on a fourth type of antibiotics. We're on type number four due to his rash/whelp reaction to other antibiotics. His NP and an immunologist she consulted with believed his reaction to be associated with a red dye in the other antibiotics, and not the antibiotics themselves. We thought we were in the clear with this one, a non-red dye antibiotic, but he started his rash/whelp reaction today. Looks like a trip to the allergist, in addition to the ENT.<br />
<br />
• I'll be 21 weeks on Monday (only 18 to go to C-section!!!), and we get to see Cecily again. This would actually be the gender reveal if we hadn't already done so! I COULD NOT have waited this long! ;)<br />
<br />
That's about it for now. I'll leave you with a few more pics of our snow day! Hope you have an amazing weekend!<br />

What a glorious sound!<br />
<br />
Pics of the current baby bump and the baby bump of Knox are on the left. Baby's heartbeat is great, and I have actually LOST 4 pounds--back to pre-pregnancy weight. The doc isn't too concerned since I just got over the stomach bug a week ago, and my eating habits are entirely different than they were when pregnant with Knox.<br />
<br />
Of course, we celebrated my birthday in other ways as well. Mexican food Friday night with our sweet neighbors, fancy dinner in Atlanta Saturday night sans Knox with surprise guests, Holly, my ATL BFF, and her hubby!!! They brought me flowers and a card and we inhaled amazing food and desserts! Yesterday was a lazy day, and I didn't even cook dinner last night as all three of us ate something that didn't agree with our tummies--but we did manage to "force" down a piece of chocolate ice cream cake Keith and Knox got for me. I received many wonderful cards (one of which was from BOTH of my children :), several texts and phone calls, and Facebook birthday wishes that would make anybody feel so special on such a special day. Honestly, I thought turning 30 would be a tiny bit difficult, but it's really not. I'm just so thankful everyday, and every year, that God lets me be apart of this world, and that he has blessed me with so many amazing people and things in this life of mine.<br />

Check out the new one on the side bar...Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-28725351609147311212010-01-24T19:28:00.000-08:002010-01-25T09:37:46.727-08:00Quick Week in Review & a POLL!<span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">J<span style="font-size: small;">ust wanted to let you guys know were still here--but barely, after this past week.</span></span></span><br />
<div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">Knox and I headed to my parents house this past Sunday for an early birthday celebration (my 30th is in one WEEK! EEEK!) while Keith headed to California for a work week on Monday. We had a great day Sunday and Monday, and had plans to head to Keith's parent's house for Wednesday and Thursday.</span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">Plan we may, but the germs came to play. Knox woke up Monday night with an absolutely horrid stomach bug. After being up with him for about 30 minutes to an hour, I notice my stomach was not feeling normal. My hunches were correct, and I joined Knox in what turned into a 4 day battle with the bad bug. It was the most terrible sickness I've ever had next to the flu. To see such a little body of Knox's go through what I was going through was torture--immensely scary.</span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">I don't know what I would have done if we were home alone. My mother was definitely my saving grace taking care of both Knox and I, while doing laundry we produced for the three days we were there. Thankfully, neither she nor my father have caught the bug yet and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Keith doesn't get it. We managed to make it home on Thursday afternoon with only minor "difficulties" on my part, and Keith made it home at 8:00am Friday on the red-eye.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">*Update: Keith got it last night. :(</span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">The weekend has been entirely devoted to getting our house decluttered and organized. Things looks somewhat in place to the passer-byer (sp?), but be warned--don't open most closets! Some have been organized, but with time, they've gotten a little messy again. Yesterday was clean out the storage closet day--it houses holiday decorations, luggage, personal affects, and some home decor that will be repurposed one day. I managed to separate about 1/3 of the stuff to be given away. And that's on top of the 6-7 bags of clothes, shoes and jackets that came from our clothes closet last weekend. I'm not even entertaining the idea of a yard sale. I don't want that stuff in my house for a few more months, while waiting for the weather to get warm enough. The extra money would be nice for more storage containers, but I'm just going to find a shelter that needs all of those things.</span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br class="webkit-block-placeholder" /></span></span><br />
</div><div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">Now, on to the really fun stuff--more baby stuff! Keith and I have settled on a boy name, but we can't nail down the last two girl names to the final one. We both go rounds of random reasons why we should go with one of the other. At this point it's quite humorous. So, I want to know what you think. Vote in my little online poll on the side bar--you don't have to be a member of anything to do so. Just click and vote!</span></span><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">*Is anyone having issues voting? I think I need to set it up again...</span><br />

<div class="MsoNormal">Just a little update on what’s going on with us:<br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Knox is still SUCH a big boy!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He sleeps in his bed every night and every nap.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He’s only fallen out the one time and will stay in bed until Mommy or Daddy come to get him.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He’s even so big that as soon as he gets up he either hands us his paci (that he only gets when he’s sleeping) or he puts it on his bedside table all by himself.<br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Potty training continues to go quite well.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We got Thomas the Train big boy underwear, but we’re not quite ready to wear those just yet.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is only just the second week of the process.<br />

I saw my friend Holly today, the one that has never been wrong with her guesses of babies’ gender from how women carry the baby.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>She said that I confuse her!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I have lost the weight I gained over Christmas and New Years, so I’ve technically only gained a pound or two.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>She said if carrying a girl, my face should look fuller even with no weight gain.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>However, she said my belly does look more round than it did with Knox and she thought my ultrasound pics looked like a girl.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>SO, no official guess from her yet.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>(Sorry, Linds!)<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I will probably see her again in about two weeks, so we’ll see if she decides then.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My heart burn is still quite annoying, and getting it more often.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now it comes after I eat or drink most anything—tea & soda especially.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I’ve never eaten Tums before now, but as of this point I’ve almost put away an entire container.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And they’re surprisingly decent—Berry Fusion Smoothies.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It’s the little things in my world.<br />

P.S. I just realized I passed my 100th blogging post anniversary! Thanks for reading my random thoughts for that many crazy posts! :)Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-64731676770534997782010-01-08T13:44:00.000-08:002010-01-08T13:44:14.545-08:00I'm so NUB-SESSESED!<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So, I'm already back for post #2 of the day. I sent my sorority sis pics of Knox at gestational age 12 week 1 day and Baby #2 at GA 13wks. She posted them on her member account of InGender, and within mere minutes she had 2 of 2 guesses for boy on Knox's and 2 of 2 guess of GIRL on Baby #2!!! I'm posting pics of random confirmed girl US (ultrasounds) that are between the GA weeks of 12-13 then I'm posting Baby #2's for comparison. Now, not all look like this, but I just picked the ones that I thought matched Baby #2's US. I'm also posting a"classic" boy nub for contrast.<br />

I'm sure there are other things that need to be done around the house (like finish the laundry) but it's just too cozy here on the couch in front of the fireplace with my warm blanket.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Knox is home from school today due to the "big blizzard" that came through last night. (Ha!) I wish Daddy had worked from home to be with us, plus I was worried sick about driving conditions. Knox and I took it easy this AM, watching a few shows after breakfast (you'll see him chillin' in a storage container below!) I finally decided to bundle him up and let him explore the snow. His first actual accumulation since he's been old enough to actually play outside. Poor thing--I couldn't find his gloves, so I just put a pair of socks on his hands, so I know they were frozen. Despite temps in the teens, Wild Man loved it and didn't want to come inside. He found the watering can and carried it around all over the place, poking the tip in the snow. He didn't do too much more with the snow--just walked around checking it out.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Next bit of fun fact is that Wild Man is becoming such a big boy. Not only has he been sitting on the potty multiple times a day since Tuesday, but he has pee-peed in the the potty at school at total of two times, and the tiniest bit once here at home. I think the only reason he got some out at home is because we promised him that he could play golf on the Wii if he went potty! The time after that, he got on the potty and immediately said, "Gol!" (aka Golf!) Little stinker.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">ALSO, he's now sleeping in a BIG BOY BED!!! Since Wednesday, we have a wooden rail on the side of his bed and moved his bed to set against the wall. The first night we had to intercept him as he was crawling off the bed about 4 times, but after that and explaining many different ways that he isn't to get out of bed unless Mommy or Daddy comes to get him, he finally stayed--and stayed the ENTIRE NIGHT until 6:15AM!!! He's taking 2-3 hour naps there too! Last night we hit a little glitch--he rolled out of the end of the bed about 11:30. He didn't sleep so soundly after that, but never tried to get out of bed! We're going to get a smaller rail to put at the foot of the bed since he doesn't have a foot board.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4rkFYMynnLNCQIgC96y2C94apNY8GeP3zheBoYFVBT51-QI9IIkFBx7E443dIwpN0VKGatiyntLa7TlujOU-MsJ7V-EpGuHsKmzxYztFV7Xq-YO2UuIY0DePevIA0YDNE433jgkUPbyI/s1600-h/Jan72010StartSnow11.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4rkFYMynnLNCQIgC96y2C94apNY8GeP3zheBoYFVBT51-QI9IIkFBx7E443dIwpN0VKGatiyntLa7TlujOU-MsJ7V-EpGuHsKmzxYztFV7Xq-YO2UuIY0DePevIA0YDNE433jgkUPbyI/s320/Jan72010StartSnow11.JPG" /></a><br />

Lastly, a sweet sorority sister of mine sent me a message saying that she thought baby #2 was A GIRL, from looking at the ultrasound pics I posted. She asked if I had heard of the "nub theory" or "the angle of the dangle". Sounds funny, right? But it's really quite interesting. Not sure if most of you know, but male and female genitals begin to form the exact same way, but it's not until week 16 or so when they're finally in the correct places. This "nub theory" is using ultrasound photos from around 12-13 weeks and using the angle of the "dangle" to determine the gender--boys point one way and girls the other. Check out the link <a href="http://baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html">here</a> for a better description and photos. It's rather interesting! I know that may be TMI for some, but just think of it as your daily science lesson! :)<br />
<br />
Anywho, another rather long post, but what else do you have to do on this pretty snow day?!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I say this because he went pee-pee on THE POTTY for the FIRST TIME EVER! YAAAYYYYY! I'm just thrilled beyond belief. You would have thought he just discovered the world the way I gushed over him! :)<br />
<br />
We've sat on the potty for a few times here with no results--he just checks everything out from the handle to the TP. I've been asking him if we wants to go potty, but normally get, "no," his favorite response to everything. I've heard you don't want to force them into it, so I just roll with it. His teacher told me she just says, "let's go potty," and takes them every hour or so. We tried after we got home but he got in the bathroom and hid with some fussing, so I didn't push it. We just got back from dinner and we made a great attempt at sitting on the potty, but no results this time. I just acknowledge his great attempts by big high fives <br />
<br />
He may have better luck at school since he gets to see the others go potty. The potty there may be more his size too. I have the seat that goes over the big potty with a stool to get up there. That's how I learned so, we're going to go with that for a while. We went to Target yesterday and looked at the cool kiddie potties there, while saying how cool it would be to go potty like a big boy on one of those "bad" boys. :)<br />
<br />
Anywho, I know that may be TMI for some of you, but it just tickled me pink (hopefully--haha! Pink, girl, get it?!) What a wonderful way to get the start of the new year off right with my baby boy making me proud!!!Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-21289508188232062282010-01-04T09:47:00.001-08:002010-01-04T10:25:25.731-08:00New Year, New BlogI decided to start a new blog more appropriate for our growing family. It won't be just Knox Rogers' Neighborhood come July! :) Make sure you update your blog roll and bookmarks!<div><br /></div><div>First off, I've been bad about taking pics of the belly this time around. I had a total of 7 photos of the progression of pregnancy with Knox. I hate I didn't take a starting photo of this pregnancy. I'll share previously "private" photos of my gigantic self along with current photos throughout this round. You can see by this side by side view, my belly popped a little earlier than last time.<br /><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_a9HS5INeZOlKh9ztrXaAvC_TnRLVfN_Yegatx7gyxxM6SS5uyIy96KQGVMeffA7bcdrrH7BKyhQL8iZZQVWpqelfj-vNV8quAe19kBBKsEeCcNp6QCxE14Aorlx7sRllxbSwQckMUF0/s1600-h/Month3DualPic.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_a9HS5INeZOlKh9ztrXaAvC_TnRLVfN_Yegatx7gyxxM6SS5uyIy96KQGVMeffA7bcdrrH7BKyhQL8iZZQVWpqelfj-vNV8quAe19kBBKsEeCcNp6QCxE14Aorlx7sRllxbSwQckMUF0/s320/Month3DualPic.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422945908191118210" /></a><div><br />We had our second ultrasound this morning. Everything is measuring perfectly and the heart rate is 146, down from the 174 it was at week 9 (it's faster at first because so much is growing!) I've only gained 4 lbs. and I contribute that to all the good food I ate in the past two weeks during the holidays, since my nausea has dwindled. I had lots of blood drawn for all the screening they do. Next ultrasound will be March 1 (next doc visit will be Feb 1), and we'll know for sure whether we have a boy or girl. The doc also told me that they prefer to do a C-section after you've had one, to reduce risks--which I was going to request anyway. He said that they typically do repeat C-sections about a week prior to the due date so current estimated date of arrival is July 5!!! Almost a Independence Day baby--and only FOUR days after it's Daddy's birthday! :)</div><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8TtOlvg1BJgYcQ0mVbhAopnh-kwteuMmCcq9-6_zi6etY-HddoGlvFWFtBjcP7_Pw9OrT4Pmap7FLUNXBnLphIk7rxG1TKpYD_Hz4X6MqWVHsDPIlg4NBC_2zldpLpJP09FBQ-hNjGoc/s1600-h/BabyRogers%232@13wksMedRes.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 198px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8TtOlvg1BJgYcQ0mVbhAopnh-kwteuMmCcq9-6_zi6etY-HddoGlvFWFtBjcP7_Pw9OrT4Pmap7FLUNXBnLphIk7rxG1TKpYD_Hz4X6MqWVHsDPIlg4NBC_2zldpLpJP09FBQ-hNjGoc/s320/BabyRogers%232@13wksMedRes.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422945904851912994" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">I labeled this ultrasound just for you Ma Jack! :)</span></span></div></div><div><br />Other current preggy tidbits that I didn't share last time:</div><div>• I'm finally over the all day sickness, and thankfully, craving fruits and veggies. I ate so many clementines the other day, I gave myself heartburn. :)</div><div>• I'm getting heartburn more frequently now than I did with Knox.</div><div>• While at home for the holidays, I took an Intelligender test at 11 weeks. It's one of those that supposedly tests hormones in your urine. Mine read BOY, but website claims 80% accuracy and from threads I've read, it's more like 50%. Also the earlier you test, the less accurate.</div><div>• I think I may be having a boy--my belly is low and more "football" shaped like it was with Knox.</div><div>• We're hung up on boy names. We have three names we love for a girl, so of course the baby will be a boy. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Speaking of names, why don't you help us out a bit. We don't go for the run of the mill names, but we don't want some weirdo name like "Sparrow". Our two boy names right now are Asa Burks Rogers and Slade Hutton Rogers. Burks and Hutton are family names. I'm not sold on either name. I had John Chapman Rogers and to call him Chapman (family name on both sides), but my brother claims that John Chapman is the brother of Dog The Bounty Hunter. Even if it's not, the name has lost it's luster. I think brothers named Knox and Slade are just ready to go out and bust some heads. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm IN LOVE with our girl names: Cecily Elizabeth Rogers, Kingsley Melia Rogers (would have been Knox's name if he was a girl) and Alden Blanche Rogers. All of the middle names are family names. I honestly go back and forth between which name is my favorite. Let me know which names are your favorite for boy or girl!</div><div><br /></div><div>Either way, the baby is healthy and on track, so we're blessed beyond belief!</div></div></div>Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-89777664194453875962010-01-03T13:37:00.000-08:002010-01-05T02:27:59.893-08:00New Year, New Blog<span style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms';"><span style="font-size: small;">With this new year, and the upcoming addition of a new little one to our family, I thought it would be appropriate to change the name of the blog. We had to give our two sweet, loving dogs away. :(</span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;">About a week ago, Knox was continuing his daily harassment of Lula and Chloe. He chases them from couch to loveseat over and over again, and once he corners them, he wallows all over them. I guess the dogs finally had enough. One day Lula snapped at Knox, which only scared him for a bit but left no marks. A day or two following that little incident, the one we thought would never harm a hair on Knox's head had her fill of rough housing. Without a growl, she turned and bit Knox on the forehead. One snap and she was done. Unfortunately, instead of only scaring Knox, she actually left a mark. I flipped. No one was home with us at my parents, except my sleeping father. Keith was 4 1/2 hours away. I cleaned his little cut and applied some medicine. Knox calmed down quite quickly, but he kept touching it--I know it was sore. I called Keith, Mom and the vet. Knox was fine and wouldn't need shots, and the wound would heal fine on it's own. Actually, today it's barely noticeable.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;">Without much discussion, Keith and I knew we'd have to give our precious puppies away. The only reason they behaved like they did is because our little rough-and-tumble little boy didn't know how to play gently with the dogs. Once the other baby gets here, I can't eagle eye Knox while taking care of newborn to ensure it didn't happen again. I know it is best that they find another home, but I can't help to be so sad that they won't be with us anymore. They were mine and Keith's first "babies." I've had my bouts of crying spells for the past few days (I know this is enhanced due to pregnancy hormones), and noticed I've distanced my self from them lately. I guess it was fear of the separation.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;">I think we had favor on our side when we received a call this morning. We desperately wanted to keep them together--the only dogs they like are each other and they love each other so. We had other arrangements that fell through this morning, when a woman that lives with her mother and 14 year old son called. They wanted one for the both of them-and they wanted lap dogs. If our two aren't lap dogs, I don't know what dogs are. :) I went with Keith to meet their new owners, but couldn't bare to see them handed over. Keith is really happy and at peace after meeting the ladies. The grandmother was so excited, saying they were sleeping with her at night. She already had Chloe rubbed silly, in her lap, with her head laid back on the grandmother and eyes half closed.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;">I know they will be nothing less than spoiled in their new home, but can't help to tear up because I had to give away my first "babies". Mommy will always love you so. :)</span></div>Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-76872688271172409532009-12-19T12:11:00.000-08:002010-01-05T02:26:27.496-08:00So Much Fun!<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">We're having a fun time with family before the holidays, and can't wait to see more family this coming week. In the meantime, I thought I'd share a few pictures of the Wild Man playing at a children's museum. Sweet Lindsey came and meet up with Knox, my brother and myself. We missed Keith being there, and can't wait until he can join us this week! I've been meaning to start a journal for this one, like I did for Knox, but I haven't gotten around to it just yet.</span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">In January, Keith and I decided to start trying for baby #2 in June. By then, if we got lucky right away, Knox would at least be 2. It took 10-11 months to get pregnant with Knox, so if that was the case again Knox would still be 3. At first, I was so preoccupied with Knox that, even though our attempts didn't result in anything, I wasn't too upset--plus we were still in our ideal range. When we finally did get pregnant, I actually didn't expect it!</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2tAgMNfPvUrI6iERhad1DFRIIWM1m_qxdLwS-Q2WvqAqlPm9AVhbkKp9rkc-7PKcOdhh9-leqo8b7mKdup2U2aLeHn-np3S-NdcNO8u29L2GV3YuikY0RyGobYbvava6gioVXN-io4r8/s320/BigBro01.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414873382587894082" /><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">I first tested positive on November 2nd. I barely saw a line and just stared, trying to decide if I was crazy or not. So I went out to get a digital one--like I did with Knox, to make sure I wasn't mistaken. To my luck, when I got out to the car, I had an extremely low tire. I had to go have it filled with air while I ran errands (and got my test) while the line to have it patched dwindled. I sat in "agony" waiting at the tire place! I flew home and got a PREGNANT result just a few minutes later! I about flipped! I didn't want to call Keith at the office, so I whipped up a shirt for Knox to wear when Keith got home that read, "Big Bro Knox." (see pic!) I initially wanted to tell family in person when we were home for Thanksgiving so I didn't tell anyone ALL DAY, especially since Keith didn't know yet. (I about died to tell someone!) Once Keith did get home, Knox wouldn't sit still for Keith to see the shirt, so I had to hold Knox up so Keith could read. Keith isn't a drama king, so I got a "you're pregnant?" :)</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">By the next day, I couldn't keep it quite any longer. I called my mom and Keith called his dad. We told my dad and Keith's mom over Skype so Knox could show off his new shirt. I sent my brother and Lindsey picture messages of Knox's shirt (on their 2 year dating anniversary, coincidentally!) We slowly told extended family and close friends over the next few weeks (once my blood work came back with good results), until we had our first ultrasound last week, on Knox's second birthday!</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">As far as how I've felt, it's similar to how I felt with Knox. I'm nauseated most every day, most all day, though it's been slightly better the past two days. By that I mean I've only gotten sick once compared to about 4 times. I'm not sick as often as I was with Knox. When pregnant with him, I was sick EVERY time I ate ANYTHING. I'm keeping more things down, but still haven't gained any weight! That a plus to all this yucky sickness, in addition to the reason I'm sick, of course! :) Nothing helps the nausea--I've tried everything from eating crackers before getting out of bed, eating crystallized ginger, lemons, lemon ginger tea, small meals throughout the day, motion sickness bands, vitamin B6 AND two types of Zofran (regular and instant that dissolves--and being in a car only aggravates it.) Think I might have to try a combo of the aforementioned for the drive home for the holidays. The nasty cough I have now doesn't help things either. I have a headache most every day from coughing so much. And please don't think I'm just complaining--it actually gives me a small piece of mind that the pregnancy is progressing as it should. I actually freak out a tiny bit when I'm not as sick. :)</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms'; font-size: 13px;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">I'm also excited that my baby bump has already popped out. I've always heard that after the first it makes it's appearance much sooner, but to have it actually happen is just plain awesome. Besides, I love me some stretch pants and I stocked up at Target the other day. I didn't have tons of long pants when preggo with Knox--it was unseasonably warm (or that's what I thought then). I actually love fitted clothes when pregnant--it's the only time I can show off my belly and be proud! Haha! It's also great knowing that the pooch is all from the baby since I haven't gained any weight from all the sickness. See--it's all good!</span></span></div></div>Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689323996229666998.post-6081005800682850642009-12-08T07:37:00.000-08:002010-01-05T02:26:27.501-08:00Blessed Times TWO!<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Today is a great day for the number TWO! Second party for turning two! The men of the group will have eyes glued to the TV--I thought I had cleverly planned the party to end right in time for the SEC Championship kickoff, as it worked out last year. Unfortunately, after invites were sent, we found out that kick off was right during the party. Why put the #1 and #2 ranked teams for a day slot anyway? OH well, the kiddies won't mind--they'll be having fun regardless!</span></span><div> </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">While we're gearing up for the big celebration, I wanted to make a list of words Knox is saying now on a regular basis--in case we're asked at his two year check up. I know it's very limited for a two year old, but he saying a few more slowly but surely. Some words he's said once or twice include bug (as in bug juice--sugar water packaged with coloring), horse, ice, match point (I know this one seems crazy, but he repeated it after the Wii tennis game!)</span></span></div><div> </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">He understands more than what he lets us hear him say. He signs please, thank you, more, eat and milk, but you usually have to get him to quit whining with his hand stuck out, and ask him point blank what he wants. He also can do all the hand movements to Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He knows where all of his body parts are and can point mommy and daddy's too. He listens very well at school and almost as well at home. :) He's getting very good at helping pick up his toys when asked. Oh and he LOVES all things cleaning--did NOT get that from his momma. :) I got him a toy broom that he carries everywhere and is obsessed with the vacuum when it's out of the closet. We think he played with our steam cleaner so much that it doesn't work like it's supposed to anymore. Hopefully this continues, and he can help really clean soon!</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div> </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">What else--oh, he loves putting together his little wooden puzzle with animals on it. It's kinda like a matching puzzle--animal picture in space for piece and also on the piece with little knob handles on the pieces--does that make sense? He does it all by himself and almost always gets it right the first time. Speaking of animals, which he adores, the animal noises he makes are moo moo for cow, grrr for bear, meow for cat, ss-ss for snake, zzzz for bee, doo doo for rooster (as in cocka doodle doo :), and gobble gobble for turkey.</span></span></div><div> </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">We're very familiar with time out. You almost have to be with a temper like our Wild Man's. :) We just tell him he needs to go sit in the corner (a dining room chair in the corner of the dining room), and he just goes and sits (and whines a bit too). We remind him there is no crying or whining in the corner, that he needs to think about what he was doing to get him there. We never leave him there for long since once he gets quite and calm he just sits there. We go over and explain to him what he did wrong and what we expect of him and then ask him to say, "Yes, ma'am (or sir)" when we ask him if he understands. Right now our response is a head down movement for yes and a mouth that moves with no sound. (I think that comes from me pointing to my mouth and telling him to SAY, "Yes, ma'am." Normally he just points at his mouth and smiles when I point at my mouth asking him to talk.) We save pops on the leg for when he does something dangerous or has fits in excess.</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">And last, but not least, my most favorite thing about Knox right now is how affectionate he is. He is totally a rough and tumble little boy--chasing the dogs, trying to sit on them, running into the couch full speed, walking on everything in his way and doing "down, set, hike" in the hallway. But in the midst of it all, he stops to give fabulous bear hugs and kisses, and kisses are now followed with a big MUAH! Even his teachers at school say that he gives the best hugs! And when he's winding down for nap time or bed time, he'll sometimes come over to me and crawl up in the chair with me to veg to some TV before turning in. These are the days. :)</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'trebuchet ms';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">That just turned into a rather long post. I just wanted to make sure I'm documenting things going on in his life right now. I have been horrible at keeping up with his baby book. Anywho, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!</span></span></div>Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03561879375386368892noreply@blogger.com1
